Glassheart is the story of Beauty and the Beast, set in a modern day Chicago apartment. The Beast, and his remaining servant, the Lamp, have taken some objects with them from their castle in France. This meant that the apartment was decorated with some modern day objects and furniture, and some 18th century France inspired objects, including a lot of books. The stained glass inspired walls were supposed to reflect the magic of the space and it’s characters, easily malleable by the lighting designer. I had a lot of success with recreating an old hardwood floor using planks of lauan. I love making fake food, and I got to create a fake truffle box and gingerbread cookie.
