This was a touring show that traveled from parking lot to parking lot around Cincinnati. The show takes place on the back of a truck, and has two actors, the main singer, Fannie Lou Hamer, and a musician. We decorated the truck with American decor and period speakers. We built a platform on the truck’s bed, which served as the stage and underneath storage space. In the audience, there were wayfaring signs, which prevented the audience from getting close to the stage, and helped the audience know where to sit. The signs alternated between being show and period relevant, to reminding the audience of the proper covid protocols. I designed and painted the signs. The production also rehearsed outside, due to the ongoing pandemic.
