Puffs is a Harry Potter retelling, from the Hufflepuff’s perspective. We created a moving set that included faux brick, a tile floor, and a golden stone texture. The back wall had various famous classical paintings, all with some sort of nerdy references that I printed out, framed, and hung. Some of the paintings were windows, which actors could open and act through. Finding thirty large picture frames were a challenge, and so were the over one hundred props used in the show. A lot of them were supposed to be low budget parodies of the “real” magical objects, including a dragon egg, sorting hat puppet, and butter beer. I carved and painted wands, which I made light up using small twist lights attached to the top.
